Fur Rondy is our mid-winter carnival time. In the old days trappers would come in to town to sell their furs, pick up more supplies, shower, shave and socialize. Rondy takes place in Feb. and now includes sled dog races, snowshoe baseball, fur auctions, carnival rides, a beauty contest and many other fun events. It is also one of the largest winter festivals in North America.
February 20, 2004 will kick off this years Fur Rondy. The festivities start with opening fireworks down at the small boat harbor on that Friday evening and will culminate March 7th.
